Catalog Description: Students are introduced to the ongoing development of medical technology used in everyday clinical practice. The course is organized, as much as possible, around a biomedical engineering lecture in which a clinical condition is described along with an explanation of the science and engineering principles behind the technology. The lecture is followed by a visit to a clinical setting where aspects of the engineering topic are practiced.
