The Keck Center for Tissue Engineering laboratories are located on the 1st floor of the Biomedical Polymers Research building (BPR) in approximately 2700 square feet of space that consists of a variety of different laboratories that integrate various disciplines to develop tissue engineered products. The BPR facility consists of an implant prototype design, fabrication, and testing laboratory; a biomaterials development and characterization laboratory; a bioreactor development area; two microscopy laboratories; a cell biology, immunohistochemistry and tissue culture laboratory; a cold room; an animal preparation, sterile dissection, and animal perfusion laboratory; and, a small animal sterile surgery suite. This space forms the core of the research and development facility. |
